Enjoying the storm that is outside!

Outside my office there is a fierce storm going on. Lots of lightening, thunder and yes, heavy rains. Great special effects, a typical summer time moment. Best of all my office is close enough to the outside to hear the sounds and even feel the vibration of the thunder. My office is also far enough inside the building to feel safe and secure amidst the storm.

I enjoy the moment because it reminds me so much of what it is like being a Christian in this life. Going through the storm is a little like being saved, we walk amidst the storms of life yet enjoy the peace that passes all understanding. We only have a right to feel scarred when we try to handle things on our own. Yet when we lean on our Lord and trust in His Word, the storms seem distant and the way becomes clear. I thank God that He is personal, faithful and involved in the day to day not just eternity.

By the way, prior to the storm hitting I went for a walk over to the Sanctuary. Here is a picture from my cell phone camera of the steeple just prior to the storm.
